FACIAL CONTOURING

Facial Contouring and Enhancements

Cheeks

If you are noticing signs of ageing due to volume loss in your cheeks or want to enhance your facial symmetry, you might be an ideal candidate for cheek fillers. Cheek fillers are injections that raise the volume of the area above and around your cheekbones. This provides the illusion of a more defined bone structure.

By injecting volume under your skin layer, cheek fillers can also smooth out wrinkles and fine lines. By adding volume to the cheek area and contouring the shape of your cheek, you can visibly lift your cheekbones and the lower face while filling out fine lines and wrinkles in the process. However, if a patient is experiencing excessive sagging and "jowls," jawline filler will most likely be recommended too.

Jawline

Fillers in this area can be used to soften angular jawlines or to enhance a rounded jawline by giving more definition. This treatment uses cannulated fillers for a smooth and even finish, making it undetectable and providing a natural look to the jawline.

Lips

Lip enhancement is one of our most popular treatments. We will ordinarily use a soft filler unless you specify otherwise. Our primary aim with all our treatments is to enhance what you already have. This method is much more suitable for ladies (and men) wanting a naturally plump look!

PDO Thread Lifting Treatment

PDO (Polydioxanone) thread lifting is the most dramatic treatment option for PDO threads but is also the most difficult and managing patient expectations is critical. Lifting threads have barbs, also known as cogs along the length of the thread with the aim of affixing the skin in a position to give the appearance of a minor facelift.

Make no mistake though, PDO thread lifts are not capable of the same outcome as a surgical facelift performed by a skilled surgeon. The amount of lift provided from a Cog PDO Thread treatment is typically only a few centimetres and the results are not permanent.

Cog PDO Threads are commonly used to lift the cheeks helping to correct nasolabial folds, along the jawline to reduce the appearance of jowls, in the neck to help correct sagginess, and in the nose for safe and effective non-surgical rhinoplasty. Usually, 1-5 Cog PDO Threads will be placed in a treatment area.

PDO Cog threads have the potential to re-define facial contours and induces collagen production. The treatment forms part of an integrated support structure for the tissue of the face by encouraging natural collagen synthesis with immediate results that peak at 6 months and last between 2-3 years.

Treatments may include the cheeks, eye area, and jawline. The barbed threads improve facial appearance by immediately lifting snd tightening. In the coming months, they will also encourage the production of new collagen in the skin to add volume to rejuvenate and improve the skin. Ideal candidates will typically be aged 45+.

PDO Threads can be used in isolation as a stand-alone procedure or in combination with other treatments. There is NO known interaction between Hyaluronic Acid and Polydioxanone (PDO).

The threads also stimulate a collagen production response over time to add further firmness. Lifting and tightening your face gives the skin back its strength and elasticity and provides you with a noticeably younger-looking appearance. The threads biodegrade over time a period of 12-18 months, when a new treatment may be needed.

This unique combination of mechanical lifting and cellular regeneration is what makes the PDO Thread Lift so powerful, giving people immediately noticeable results and long-lasting regeneration.

Polydioxanone (PDO) threads are special medical-grade threads that are thinner than hair and made of protein. Research has confirmed that PDO relaxes tendons and muscles, whilst a foreign body reaction improves the blood flow to the area stimulating neocollagenesis, which is the production of new collagen in the skin.

Mono threads are a type of PDO filament which can be inserted into the skin in a mesh-like pattern to help increase skin tightness. The procedure is known for being minimally invasive.

So, what can this type of procedure help treat?

• Forehead lines

• Drooping eyebrows

• Sagging jowls

• Ageing skin

The procedure works by lifting things like sagging skin tissues by inducing collagen production through the filament inserted into the skin.

Once inserted into the skin, the threads activate collagen synthesis to gradually tighten and rejuvenate the skin. This provides the skin with a tighter feel and appearance and more of a youthful look. Typically, around 10-30 mono threads are used to treat an area.

There are different types of thread procedures which are non-surgical alternatives.

Mono Threads

Mono threads, as mentioned, are smooth threads without barbs. Between 10-20 of these threads can be inserted into the skin to help encourage skin tightening and rejuvenation. The threads are attached to an “anchoring point” of the scalp or face. Mono threads, however, are said to tighten the skin but not significantly lift it which is why they are typically combined with cog threads for a more lifting effect.

Cog Threads

Cog threads, like mono threads, are also barbed, however, from the underside of the skin. These barbs form a structure which lifts the sagging tissue. Unlike mono threads, cog threads do not need anchoring points and so are easier to target certain areas. This type of treatment is said to be the most effective non-surgical treatment for face lifting.
