UNITED WE STAND - The menopause - series 2
So last year I wrote 3 blogs about menopause for `International Menopause Week.
I have been thinking a lot about this subject lately, as it is such a huge feature in many of my client's lives and I am personally being thrust-into peri menopause (SIGH).
Whilst there is a wealth of information available on this subject, last year I found it hard to navigate everything that was being thrown at us.
After month's of research I felt I had narrowed it down to the "nitty gritty" of what we need to know, and how to easily access this information. I highlighted what I found to be most useful and relevant as well as finding some humour in it all.
What I want to focus on in this series are the less talked and often misunderstood aspects of menopause
THE RISK OF ALCOHOL DEPENDANCY
DEPRESSION AND ANXIETY (Often fed by increasing alcohol intake to combat anxiety!?)
CHRONIC FATIGUE (Often caused by alcohol and depression or anxiety)
IDENTITY CRISIS (Trying to manage and navigate all of the above!)
I have been, and still am researching medical journals and papers written on the above topics and I feel; like I have finally found enough factual research to be able to give us ladies an invaluable insight into the most awful aspects of the ageing hormone cycle.
I don't mind sharing that... it has taken over a week to get my head together to write the introduction!! - Brain fog and chronic fatigue have played a huge part in this. I am however keeping on with it and will report back over the next couple of weeks. (Now the deadline is out there I have to pull through!!)
If any of you lovely subscribers have any valuable information or experience you would like to share or contribute please don't hesitate to email me here... email@example.com
Hang in there ladies ... I will be back soon x
